Last Friday I ventured down to the Harry Potter studio tour for my fifth visit, my wonderful friend that I met while volunteering in South Africa was visiting from Scotland, and the Warner Bros. tour was top of her list of things to do. I was a bit skeptical about visiting again, surely I had seen it all before on numerous occasions, but I, in fact, enjoyed it as much as I did on my first visit, and all the other visits.
So here are my five reasons why the Warner Bro studio tour is worth visiting more than once
1. There is always something new.
Whether it is something that you haven’t noticed on your last visit, or because of new items on display, I guarantee something will be different on each visit. On this particular visit they were celebrating 15 years since the release of the Philosopher’s stone movie, so for the first time, various memorabilia from the film was on display. It is well worth looking out for what is being celebrated next for your chance to see something special. My particular favourite thing is the season changing Great Hall, I love the colours of Autumn, so it was wonderful to see such an iconic scene dressed in warm colours with pumpkins on all the tables. Over the next month Christmas will take over the great hall and Hogwarts will be transformed with snow.
2. The Cast Members
The staff at the tour know their stuff, they are fans of the books and films just as much as you and me, and it is so wonderful to see. They are always on hand to ask questions (which they seem to know every answer to!) and are always more than happy to chat, it really does help to make the experience complete. I have never had an experience at the tour where I have met a negative member of staff, they really go out of their way to keep the magic alive.
3. Butterbeer ice cream
Butterbeer ice cream deserves a shout out. I am not a fan of the butterbeer drink, but the ice cream is incredible and is available during the back lot area of the tour only. The Warner bro studio tour is the only place in Europe where you can purchase official Butter beer, so although it quite expensive, it is a must for a fan of the Wizarding world.
4. The Photo Opportunities
The studio tour is full of amazing photo opportunities, from platform 9 ¾, on the Hogwarts express, to playing Quidditch. Aside from these, the studio is beautiful in general and incredibly fun to photograph. On each visit I try to find new angles and more interesting ways to photograph everything on display, this, in turn, finds me noticing even more little things that I never noticed before.
5. THAT Hogwarts Moment
If you have visited before you will know what I mean, it takes my breath away every single time. The iconic scene, combined with the lighting and the music, it is just perfect and never tires. No matter how many people are in that room, I always find there is a peaceful silence as people take it in. A firm reminder that Hogwarts is always there to welcome you home.
I am sure my visit on Friday will not be last, and it has got me super excited for my trip back to the Wizarding of World of Harry Potter in Orlando next March.
I was a guest of the studio tour, but as always all opinions and my crazy of love of Harry Potter is my own.
