A few weekends ago, I met up with a few of the ladies I have met through the blogging world at Bar and Block Steakhouse in King’s Cross for a long overdue catch-up, and what better way to catch up than over bottomless Prosecco and good food.
Located just across from the train station, Bar and Block’s contrast of tiled bars and open brick walls fit right in the with cool London Vibes of the area it is located. To match its modern interior, The Steakhouse have gone with the trend and recently launched their bottomless brunch. That’s right folks, Bottomless Prosecco, Hot Drinks and Juice for just £15 when you order any dish.
How it works
- When ordering your food at Bar + Block, let the team know that you’d like the bottomless drinks offer.
- Say cheese for the camera! Hold on to your Polaroid photo as you’ll need to show this to claim drinks from the bar. You’ll be given a Prosecco glass and your 90 minutes will begin! Don’t worry though, they will write the end time on the back of your photo as a reminder.
- Collect Prosecco from the bar by showing your photo and presenting your glass or help yourself to hot drinks and juice from the self-service area.
For my dish choice, I went for the brunch staple smashed avocado and poached eggs, which was fantastic, but I did have complete food envy over Kara and Ellie’s breakfast pancakes. Obviously, our chat quickly focused on travel and the wide range of places all of us are heading over the course of the year, I think it is fair to say between the five of us we have quite a fair portion of the world covered. I am also still in the process of planning a bigger trip for the end of this year, so it was great to bounce around some ideas, I think it is still a toss up between Japan and India.
After our brunch dishes, the team at Bar + Block treated us to a selection of sides that they offer on their main menu, and by selection, I mean feast. Being vegetarian, there was not too much I could tuck into, but from the empty plates that were left, I am pretty sure the dishes as appetising as they looked – especially the Chicken with Raspberry and Tobasco sauce. If you are vegetarian, be sure to try the golden crisped Macaroni cheese and the Wild Mushrooms on toast, you will not be disappointed.
The pleasing aesthetics and laid back atmosphere of Bar + Block made for a great location for our now quarterly brunch club, at no point did we feel rushed or forgotten, as is sometimes the case I have found in a few of the bottomless brunches around the city. All of which was made better by the great company, that I am so grateful to this blog for because these girls are fricking awesome and achieving so much, one is absolutely killing it in the blogging world, one travels more than anyone I have ever met, one has won awards for her travel writing and the other has such a positive and infectious outlook on life. I am so glad I get to call them friends.
Oh and the best thing about brunching with fellow bloggers? No one questions the need to take many photos before even considering to touch your food.
